Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AV (Audio Visual) Integration Intern to join our Corporate IT team in Laval. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of cutting-edge AV systems. You will work closely with experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of corporate AV technology, troubleshooting, and support. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about technology, eager to learn, and looking to kickstart a career in AV integration or corporate IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior AV technicians with the installation, configuration, and testing of new AV equipment in meeting rooms, auditoriums, and collaboration spaces.
- Learn to troubleshoot and resolve common AV hardware and software issues, including projectors, displays, cameras, microphones, and control systems.
- Help maintain inventory of AV equipment and manage asset tracking.
- Prepare documentation for AV system layouts, user guides, and maintenance procedures.
- Support day-to-day AV operations, including setting up equipment for meetings and events.
- Research new AV technologies and solutions to enhance corporate communication.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of AV systems with network infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of audio and video concepts (e.g., signal flow, display technologies).
- Proficiency with common operating systems (Windows, macOS).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to IT, Audiovisual Technology, Electronics, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS).
- Familiarity with network protocols relevant to AV (e.g., Dante, NDI).
- Basic knowledge of video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Hands-on experience with soldering or basic wiring.
