Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organized Stock Controller to join our retail warehouse team in Layton, Utah. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory records, and maintaining an efficient and safe warehouse environment. This position is vital to our supply chain, directly impacting our ability to provide products to our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately process incoming merchandise and store deliveries.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring optimal space utilization.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Prepare and dispatch outgoing shipments to the retail floor or other locations as required.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, if certified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse at all times.
- Report any damaged or defective goods and assist in the return process.
- Collaborate with retail team members to ensure product availability and address any stock-related inquiries.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise frequently (up to 50 lbs).
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory management systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail warehouse, inventory control, or stockroom role.
- Knowledge of inventory management software.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
