Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented student looking for a flexible, remote opportunity to earn income while honing your language skills? Rev.com is seeking motivated Remote Student Transcriptionists to join our global network. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio and video files across a general focus of topics, converting spoken content into written text. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain professional experience, work independently, and contribute to a leading media services company. No prior professional transcription experience is required; we provide all the necessary training and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and video recordings accurately, maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
- Meet specified deadlines and turn-around times for transcription projects.
- Review and edit your own transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness, punctuation, and speaker identification.
- Adhere to Rev.com's style guide and quality standards for all transcription work.
- Manage your workload effectively and communicate any challenges or questions promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and project content.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong listening skills and ability to discern various accents and speech patterns.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using a computer and basic word processing software.
- Ability to learn new software and tools quickly.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
- Prior experience with transcription software or platforms (e.g., Express Scribe, Audacity) is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with various audio and video formats.
- Ability to type at a minimum of 60 WPM.
