Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Music Curriculum Developer to join our remote education technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective music education courses for our global platform. This position requires a blend of deep musical expertise, pedagogical insight, and a keen understanding of online learning methodologies. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and technical teams to create high-quality, interactive learning experiences that inspire and educate learners of all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive music curriculum frameworks, course outlines, and learning objectives.
- Create engaging course content, including lesson plans, interactive exercises, assessments, and multimedia resources (audio, video, notation).
- Collaborate with external subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructors to ensure content accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness.
- Integrate innovative educational technologies and instructional strategies to enhance the online learning experience.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on existing music courses and materials.
- Conduct research on current trends in music education and online learning to inform curriculum development.
- Ensure all course materials adhere to accessibility standards and best practices for online learners.
- Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Musicology, Composition, or a related field.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, particularly in music education.
- Strong pedagogical understanding and ability to translate complex musical concepts into accessible learning content.
- Proficiency with music notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, Dorico).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with online learning platforms (LMS) and content creation tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant music or education discipline.
- Experience teaching music at a collegiate or professional level.
- Familiarity with various music genres, instruments, and cultural contexts.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles for adult learners.
- Experience with video and audio editing software for educational content creation.
