Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic construction team on various projects in and around Downey, CA. This crucial role involves safely transporting materials such as asphalt, dirt, aggregates, and other construction essentials to and from job sites. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy dump trucks (e.g., ten-wheelers, transfers, belly dumps) safely and efficiently.
  • Transport various materials, including asphalt, dirt, aggregates, and other construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or needed repairs.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, including DOT standards.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Assist with minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured before transport.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated experience operating dump trucks in a construction environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to load, unload, and perform necessary physical tasks associated with the job.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification.
  • Experience with different types of dump trucks (e.g., ten-wheel, transfer, belly dump, end dump).
  • Familiarity with construction sites and procedures.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues.
