Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Linen Chute Clearer to join our hotel operations team. This essential role involves working in the hotel basement to manage and clear linen chutes, ensuring a continuous and efficient flow of soiled linens for laundry processing. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to perform heavy lifting repeatedly throughout the shift in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a critical support role that contributes directly to the smooth functioning of our housekeeping and laundry departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor and clear blockages in hotel linen chutes to ensure uninterrupted flow of soiled linens.
  • Safely handle and transport large volumes of soiled linens to designated collection areas.
  • Operate and maintain basic laundry equipment and tools as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the linen room and basement areas.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or chute issues to immediate supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other general duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and continuously throughout the shift.
  • Strong physical stamina and endurance.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, laundry, or similar physically demanding role.
  • Familiarity with waste management or material handling equipment.
