Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pinterest Systems Architect to join our Enterprise IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex enterprise systems with a specific focus on integrating with and leveraging large-scale content and social platforms, including the Pinterest ecosystem. You will play a crucial role in architecting solutions that ensure scalability, performance, security, and reliability for critical business functions, particularly those involving data ingestion, analytics, and content distribution strategies across digital platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles, cloud technologies, and a proven track record of delivering robust IT solutions in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of enterprise systems, with a particular emphasis on data integration and content management strategies related to platforms like Pinterest.
- Develop technical specifications, architectural diagrams, and documentation for new and existing systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools to meet business requirements and future growth, considering the specific demands of large-scale social media data.
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and secure architectural solutions.
- Ensure system designs adhere to security best practices, compliance regulations, and data governance policies, especially concerning user data and content.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering best practices in system design, coding, and operational excellence.
- Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency, conducting regular reviews and proposing improvements.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across various enterprise systems and integration points.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in cloud computing, data analytics, and social media platforms.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems architecture, with a focus on large-scale data and integration.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and experience with automation tools.
- Expertise in database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions.
- Solid knowledge of networking, security principles, and enterprise identity management.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience with data analytics platforms and tools.
- Familiarity with marketing technology stacks and social media advertising platforms.
