Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organized Hospital Storeman & Porter with a strong focus on inventory management to join our dedicated team in Derry/Londonderry. This crucial role involves ensuring the efficient movement of goods, equipment, and patients within our hospital environment, as well as maintaining meticulous records of stock levels in our warehouse. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our healthcare facility, directly supporting medical and administrative staff by ensuring supplies are readily available and transported safely and promptly. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store deliveries of medical supplies, equipment, and other goods in designated warehouse areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using both manual and electronic systems, conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
- Manage stock rotation, ensuring items are used before their expiry dates and alerting management to low stock levels.
- Safely and efficiently transport patients, equipment, and medical records between wards, departments, and other areas of the hospital.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods from delivery vehicles.
- Ensure the warehouse and storage areas are kept clean, tidy, and organized according to health and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain manual handling equipment safely (e.g., trolleys, pallet trucks).
- Liaise with ward staff and suppliers regarding deliveries and stock requirements.
- Support waste management and recycling initiatives within the hospital.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with medical supplies and equipment.
- Experience with inventory management software.
- Full clean driving licence.
