Job Description
We are seeking a Funeral Limousine Driver to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing safe, dignified, and timely transportation for families, clergy, and funeral directors during funeral services and related events. This position requires exceptional professionalism, a compassionate demeanor, and meticulous attention to detail. You will represent our funeral home during some of the most sensitive moments in a family’s life, requiring a high degree of empathy and discretion. Maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of our fleet vehicles is also a key aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate funeral limousines and other company vehicles safely and professionally.
- Provide respectful and compassionate transportation for grieving families, clergy, and pallbearers.
- Ensure punctuality for all scheduled services, viewings, and events.
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles, offering support as needed.
- Maintain vehicles in immaculate condition, performing regular cleaning and basic maintenance checks.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively and discreetly with funeral directors and staff.
- Represent Ted Dickey Funeral Home with dignity and professionalism at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years professional driving experience (e.g., chauffeur, taxi, commercial driving).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Profound sense of empathy, compassion, and discretion.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and punctuality.
- Physical ability to assist passengers and handle light lifting if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the funeral services industry or a related field.
- Familiarity with the Plano/Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
- Professional chauffeur training or certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
