Job Description
Are you passionate about great food and exceptional customer service? Greggs is looking for a friendly and efficient Takeaway Customer Assistant to join our team in Headingley, Leeds. This is an in-store only position, focusing on face-to-face customer interaction and service, with no phone call duties involved. You’ll be the heart of our shop, ensuring every customer has a fantastic experience, from greeting them to serving our delicious products with a smile. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist customers with their orders directly in the shop.
- Accurately process transactions using our till system and handle cash/card payments.
- Prepare and serve a range of food and beverages, including freshly baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee, adhering to Greggs' high standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the shop floor, service areas, and food preparation zones.
- Efficiently restock display shelves, ensuring products are always available and attractively presented.
- Politely handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills for clear customer interaction.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and calmly in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.
- A strong team player with a willingness to support colleagues.
- Basic numeracy skills for accurate till operation and cash handling.
- A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or food service role is a plus.
- Possession of a Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2) is advantageous.
