Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civilian Packer to join our team supporting a secure federal contract on a military base in Orem, UT. This essential role involves packaging, labeling, and preparing various goods and materials for shipment, ensuring compliance with strict federal regulations and safety standards. The successful candidate will be a critical part of a team dedicated to supporting our nation’s defense infrastructure, contributing to efficient logistics and supply chain operations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively within a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pack, label, and prepare items for storage and shipment according to federal and military standards.
  • Follow strict federal and military packaging standards and procedures, including specific material handling requirements.
  • Operate basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks on packed items to ensure integrity, accuracy, and full compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company and federal safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily packing, processing, and shipping targets.
  • Accurately document inventory movements, discrepancies, and assist with inventory management and reporting as required.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills for documentation and labeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all packaging and documentation tasks.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain necessary security clearances for military base access.
  • US Citizenship required due to the nature of the federal contract.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cooperative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, packaging, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with military packing procedures, specifications (e.g., MIL-STD packaging), or government contracting.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks (certification is a plus).
  • Proficiency with basic inventory management systems or handheld scanners.
