Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technicians to join our esteemed team in Dumfries. This vital role involves supporting individuals with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions. As a BHT, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans, promote a safe and therapeutic environment, and empower patients towards recovery and greater independence. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities and personal care, promoting independence where possible.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and behavioral support plans under the guidance of clinical staff.
  • Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and any changes in condition accurately and promptly.
  • Engage patients in individual and group activities designed to enhance social skills, coping mechanisms, and overall well-being.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Observe and report any concerns regarding patient safety or well-being to the appropriate professional.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training programs.

  • Strong observational and reporting skills.
  • Reliability, resilience, and a positive attitude.
  • Basic understanding of mental health conditions and behavioral support techniques (can be learned on job for entry-level).
  • Right to work in the UK or eligibility for sponsorship (support provided for international applicants).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, social care, or support worker role.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or autism.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
