Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the core platform that powers inspiration for millions worldwide. As a Software Engineer at Pinterest, you will work on challenging problems, design and implement scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features. This role is 100% remote within the USA, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable and reliable software solutions for Pinterest's core platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver innovative features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
- Monitor and maintain production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across various systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C++, Go.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with large-scale, high-traffic web services.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Familiarity with machine learning principles and applications.
- Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, JavaScript) for full-stack roles.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
