Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Online Google Specialist with a strong background in Technical Documentation to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing technical documentation primarily within Google’s ecosystem and related platforms. This includes developing user guides, API documentation, internal process documents, and support articles that are clear, concise, and easy to understand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Google Workspace tools, excellent technical writing skills, and a passion for making complex information accessible. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, administrator guides, API references, release notes, and FAQs.
  • Utilize Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites) and other Google-centric tools to create, store, and manage documentation.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly language for various audiences.
  • Implement and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and terminology guidelines.
  • Optimize documentation for searchability and usability within internal and external knowledge bases.
  • Review and edit content from other team members for clarity, grammar, and adherence to style guides.
  • Stay current with Google product updates and evolving documentation best practices.
  • Manage documentation lifecycle from planning and creation to review, publication, and deprecation.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation.
  • Proven expertise in creating and managing documentation within Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sites, Drive).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to understand and translate complex technical information into easily digestible content.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) or knowledge base platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with other documentation tools like Confluence, Jira, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles for optimizing online documentation.
  • Experience with screencasting or creating instructional videos.
