Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Recycling Plant Quality Sorter to join our team in Iqaluit. This is an immediate hire position, crucial for ensuring the quality and purity of recycled materials. As a Quality Sorter, you will play a vital role in our recycling process, identifying and separating various materials to meet strict quality standards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure your safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort recyclable materials on a moving conveyor belt, separating items such as plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, and metals.
- Identify and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the material stream.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the consistent use of provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the sorting facility.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material flow and quality issues.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish between various materials.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in an industrial setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or sorting environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with different types of recyclable materials.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required.
