Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Brick Stacker / Mover. This demanding role is crucial to our operations, involving the safe and efficient handling, stacking, and organizing of various masonry products, including bricks, blocks, and other construction materials. The successful candidate must be able to perform strenuous physical tasks consistently, adhere to strict safety protocols, and contribute positively to our warehouse and yard operations in Kitchener, ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load, unload, stack, and move bricks, blocks, and other heavy construction materials by hand or with equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in the yard and warehouse, ensuring materials are easily accessible and stored according to company standards.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, potentially forklifts) as required, with proper training.
- Inspect materials for quality and damage, reporting any discrepancies to supervision.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Assist customers and other team members with loading materials onto vehicles, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area, including the yard and warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall store operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) for extended periods.
- Excellent physical stamina, strength, and endurance.
- Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor, and indoor environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or physically demanding role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with various types of building materials and masonry products.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
