Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team in Liverpool, with a specific focus on the Google Ecosystem. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Barclays’ operations, particularly those involving Google platforms, products, and services, adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks associated with our engagement with Google’s evolving ecosystem, including cloud services, data analytics, and digital partnerships. This position requires a proactive approach to compliance, a strong understanding of financial regulations, and an keen eye for the unique challenges and opportunities presented by major technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures related to the use of Google products and services across the organization.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments specifically pertaining to the Google Ecosystem, including data privacy (GDPR), cybersecurity, and regulatory reporting.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes, industry standards, and Google's terms of service and policy updates, advising on their impact to Barclays.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to business units on compliance requirements related to Google platform usage.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance breaches or incidents involving Google services, recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, IT, and business teams to integrate compliance controls into new projects and initiatives involving Google technology.
  • Prepare comprehensive compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external audits concerning Google-related compliance matters.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer, preferably within financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrable understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, FCA regulations, and other relevant financial compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, Google Workspace, or other key Google enterprise offerings from a compliance perspective.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable business requirements.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and control implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CAMS, ICA Diploma).
  • Legal or audit background with experience in technology or digital platforms.
  • Experience working with multinational organizations or large enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks relevant to cloud computing.
  • Project management skills to lead compliance initiatives.
