Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Print Finisher / Bindery Assistant to join our production team in Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship, eager to learn and grow within the printing industry. As a Bindery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the final stages of the printing process, ensuring that all printed materials are finished to the highest standards, ready for delivery. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal entry-point for someone looking to start a career in creative industrial work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Print Finishers in various bindery operations, including cutting, creasing, folding, perfect binding, and saddle stitching.
- Operate and monitor bindery equipment under supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and client expectations.
- Load and unload materials from machines, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with packing and dispatching finished goods.
- Support the wider production team as needed to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Learn and apply best practices for efficient and high-quality print finishing.
