Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Google Community Moderator with a strong focus on secure online group management. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, compliance, and positive engagement within Google’s diverse online communities. Your primary goal will be to monitor discussions, enforce community guidelines, and respond to user-generated content, with a particular emphasis on identifying and mitigating security risks, misinformation, and harmful content within designated secure online groups. This is a critical role in protecting our users and fostering a trusted environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and moderate user-generated content across Google's online platforms and secure groups, ensuring adherence to community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Proactively identify, investigate, and escalate potential security threats, fraudulent activities, or inappropriate content.
  • Engage with community members in a professional and helpful manner, providing support and fostering positive interactions.
  • Implement and enforce content policies, taking appropriate action on violations, including content removal, warnings, or account suspensions.
  • Analyze community trends and provide feedback to product and policy teams to improve guidelines and platform features.
  • Stay informed about current online safety challenges, security best practices, and evolving moderation tools.
  • Participate in regular training to enhance knowledge of product features, policy updates, and moderation techniques.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in online community management, content moderation, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
  • Proficiency in navigating and utilizing various online platforms and moderation tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of online safety principles, data privacy, and security protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • High level of empathy and emotional intelligence when interacting with diverse user bases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sociology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience with Google products and services, particularly community-focused platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered moderation tools and analytics.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex patterns of online behavior and abuse.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume moderation environment.
