Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to design, develop, and manage our enterprise data warehouse solutions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting various departments including operations, finance, and exploration. This position requires a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL processes, data modeling, and business intelligence tools. You will be responsible for creating robust, scalable, and high-performance data architectures that meet current and future business needs. Relocation assistance is provided for qualified candidates willing to move to Val-d’Or, Quebec.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data warehouse architectures using industry best practices.
- Lead the definition and implementation of data modeling standards, ETL strategies, and data governance policies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of ETL processes to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Optimize data warehouse performance for efficient querying and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data professionals.
- Stay abreast of new data warehousing technologies and trends, recommending appropriate solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and data modeling.
- Proven expertise with leading data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database design (relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, Talend, Fivetran).
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience in the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Certifications in data warehousing or cloud platforms.
