Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Junior Google Designer with a strong focus on User Interface (UI) design to join our dynamic team in Downtown Kansas City. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for our healthcare technology solutions, ensuring they align with Google’s Material Design principles and best practices. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring designer to grow their skills, collaborate with experienced professionals, and make a tangible impact on the future of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of intuitive and engaging user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Apply Google Material Design guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and high-quality user experiences.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and user flows.
- Participate in user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to iterate on design solutions.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain and contribute to our growing design system components and documentation.
- Stay informed on the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies, particularly within the Google design ecosystem.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in UI/UX design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- A strong understanding of Google Material Design principles and guidelines.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing UI design projects, including school projects or personal initiatives.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
- Familiarity with responsive design principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
- Experience with motion design or animation for user interfaces.
- Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Previous internship or project experience in a professional design environment.
- Experience working within an Agile development framework.
