Job Description
Join the FedEx Ground team as a Warehouse Sweeper and contribute to maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This entry-level role involves performing simple, essential tasks to ensure our New Port Richey facility operates smoothly. You will be responsible for general upkeep, supporting our operations team by keeping critical areas clean and organized, directly contributing to the efficiency and safety of our package handling processes. This position requires a reliable individual with a strong work ethic, ready to learn and grow within a dynamic logistics setting. No prior experience is necessary; we provide all required training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of warehouse floors, aisles, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and break rooms.
- Wipe down surfaces, including workstations, railings, and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Assist with other facility support tasks as needed, such as organizing supplies.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request refills when necessary.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow company policies.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail for cleanliness and order.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or cleaning role (not required, but a plus).
