Job Description

As a Forklift Battery Changer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of our material handling equipment. Your primary responsibility will be the safe and efficient changing and maintenance of forklift batteries. You will also assist with general warehouse maintenance tasks, contributing to a safe and productive work environment. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine battery changes for electric forklifts and other material handling equipment, following strict safety protocols.
  • Monitor battery charging cycles, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the battery charging area.
  • Conduct basic maintenance checks on batteries, including checking water levels and cleaning terminals.
  • Safely store and handle hazardous materials associated with batteries.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  • Assist with general warehouse maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects (with assistance and appropriate equipment, as needed, for batteries).
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn technical tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.
  • Willingness to undergo and successfully complete all provided training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any previous experience in a warehouse or industrial setting would be a plus (not required).
  • An understanding of basic electrical safety principles is beneficial.
