Job Description

We are seeking highly skilled and exceptionally motivated Critical Care Transport Nurses to join our elite medical transport team. This high-intensity role demands precision, critical thinking, and advanced clinical skills in dynamic and often challenging environments. As a Critical Care Transport Nurse, you will provide expert medical care to critically ill and injured patients during inter-facility and scene-to-hospital transfers via ground and air ambulance. You will operate autonomously and collaboratively within a specialized team, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and protocols to stabilize, monitor, and treat patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced critical care interventions and treatments during transport, including airway management, ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and medication administration.
  • Conduct rapid and comprehensive patient assessments, formulating and implementing appropriate care plans in collaboration with medical control.
  • Safely operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, ensuring readiness and functionality for all transport missions.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring facilities, receiving facilities, and all members of the transport team.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures during all phases of transport.
  • Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain readiness for rapid deployment and respond to transport requests efficiently and professionally.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an adult or pediatric critical care unit (ICU, ED, CVICU).
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
  • Current Certification in Transport Professional (CTRN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN).
  • Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in airway management, ventilator operation, and vasoactive drip administration.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, rapidly changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Experience in a dedicated critical care transport program (ground or air).
  • Paramedic certification or advanced prehospital care experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience with inter-facility transfers and scene calls.
