Job Description
Join Target as a Stock Controller in our busy retail warehouse in Jersey City, NJ! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring efficient flow of merchandise, and supporting the overall operational success of the warehouse. This is an on-site position where you will play a crucial part in organizing, receiving, and dispatching stock, directly impacting our ability to serve our guests with the products they love. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory counts through regular stock checks and audits.
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming merchandise, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse, optimizing space and accessibility.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation for delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and identify discrepancies, reporting issues to management promptly.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with retail store teams to fulfill orders and address stock-related inquiries.
- Utilize inventory management systems to track stock movements and data.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory management.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, retail, or inventory control environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift certification is a plus).
