Job Description
Are you a die-hard Madden NFL fan with a keen eye for detail and a passion for gaming? Electronic Arts (EA Sports) is looking for enthusiastic Junior Playtesters to join our team in Roseville, California. In this role, you will play unreleased versions of Madden NFL, identify bugs, provide critical feedback, and ensure the highest quality gaming experience before launch. This is a unique opportunity to turn your love for football and gaming into a rewarding career. No prior professional experience is required—just your passion and sharp observation skills!
Key Responsibilities
- Execute detailed test plans and checklists for Madden NFL titles.
- Rigorously play through various game modes, scenarios, and features to identify software defects, glitches, and inconsistencies.
- Document bugs clearly and concisely in our bug tracking system, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay mechanics, user interface, balance, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate closely with QA engineers, designers, and developers to ensure issues are understood and resolved.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and team discussions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding unreleased game content and intellectual property.
Required Skills
- Deep familiarity and passion for the Madden NFL franchise and American football.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to articulate thoughts and findings clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with bug reporting tools (training will be provided).
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or game testing (personal projects or informal testing counts!).
- Familiarity with various gaming platforms (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, PC).
- Understanding of basic game development cycles.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and processes.
