Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Mother’s Helper to support a busy family with a 13-year-old teen in the River Oaks area of Houston. This part-time role involves light household duties focused around the teen’s needs and general assistance to the mother, as well as occasional sitting duties. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and have a positive demeanor, capable of engaging respectfully with a teenager and contributing to a harmonious household.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with light meal preparation and snack supervision for the 13-year-old.
- Perform light tidying of common areas, especially the kitchen and living room.
- Help organize and maintain the 13-year-old's room and personal spaces.
- Handle light laundry, primarily for the teen's clothes.
- Provide age-appropriate supervision and companionship for the 13-year-old during designated hours.
- Run occasional errands, such as grocery pickups or school-related tasks.
- Support the mother with various household tasks as needed.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the teen.
Required Skills
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with teenagers.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Basic organizational and time management abilities.
- A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
- Comfortable with maintaining household order and cleanliness.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar household helper, babysitting, or childcare role.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- References from previous employers or families.
