Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Agrochemical Chemist with a specialization in Fertilizer & Crop Science to join our innovative research and development team in New Port Richey, FL. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the design, synthesis, and analysis of novel agrochemicals and fertilizer formulations aimed at enhancing crop yield and health. You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to bring cutting-edge solutions to market. This position requires a strong background in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, and a passion for agricultural science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory research and experiments focused on fertilizer and crop protection product development.
  • Synthesize and characterize new chemical compounds for agricultural applications.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of agrochemical formulations using advanced analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, NMR, IR).
  • Develop and validate new analytical methods for product quality control and active ingredient analysis.
  • Evaluate the efficacy, stability, and environmental impact of new and existing agrochemical products.
  • Prepare detailed reports, present findings, and maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
  • Collaborate with formulation scientists, agronomists, and field researchers to optimize product performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality assurance standards.
  • Stay current with scientific literature and industry trends in agrochemistry and crop science.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in agrochemical research, fertilizer development, or a related chemical industry.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (HPLC, GC-MS, NMR, IR, UV-Vis).
  • Strong understanding of organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms relevant to agrochemical compounds.
  • Experience with formulation development and stability testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with environmental fate studies or ecotoxicology assessments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for agrochemical products (e.g., EPA guidelines).
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and crop science principles.
  • Experience with statistical analysis of experimental data.
