Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Air Freight Handler to join our dynamic team at the Las Vegas airport facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of freight, packages, and materials, playing a vital part in our global logistics network. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning freight, maintaining a high standard of safety and operational efficiency. This is a fast-paced environment that requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight, packages, and materials from aircraft, trucks, and sorting equipment.
- Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and tugs, after proper training and certification.
- Sort and scan freight according to destination, ensuring accurate placement and tracking.
- Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Prepare freight for shipment, including wrapping, labeling, and securing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse and ramp areas.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely and efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and scanning.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or airport operations setting.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of air cargo handling procedures.
