Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Systems Designer with a strong focus on AV Integration to join our dynamic team in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive design of complex audio systems for a variety of commercial, corporate, and public sector clients. This role involves translating client needs into detailed system schematics, specifications, and documentation, ensuring seamless integration with other AV and IT components. You will work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to deliver world-class audio experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer advanced audio systems, including sound reinforcement, conferencing, recording, and broadcast solutions.
- Create detailed system schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Develop comprehensive Bills of Material (BOMs) and technical specifications for all audio equipment.
- Perform acoustical calculations and simulations to optimize system performance for various environments.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and internal teams to gather requirements and present design concepts.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay abreast of emerging audio technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Conduct site surveys to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for AV system design.
- Expertise in audio system design principles, acoustics, and signal processing.
- Strong understanding of networked audio protocols (Dante, AVB, AES67, etc.).
- Familiarity with industry-leading audio manufacturers and their product lines.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and electrical schematics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in audio system design within the AV integration industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist – Design) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with acoustical modeling software (e.g., EASE, Soundvision).
- Proficiency with control system programming (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS).
- Experience designing for diverse market segments (corporate, education, government, hospitality).
- Project management experience in AV integration projects.
