Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Banking Risk Annotator to join our ‘Smart Working’ team in Sheffield. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and annotating financial data, documents, and communications to identify potential risks, regulatory compliance issues, and key information. Your work will directly support our risk management frameworks, ensuring data accuracy and contributing to the integrity of our banking operations. This position offers a hybrid work model, combining office presence with flexible remote working options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and accurately annotate complex financial data, transactions, and communications according to defined guidelines and risk parameters.
  • Identify and flag potential risks, anomalies, and compliance breaches within large datasets.
  • Collaborate with risk analysts and data scientists to refine annotation guidelines and improve data quality.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency in all annotation tasks.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of annotation tools and processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to data privacy, security, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on risk landscapes and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data annotation, data entry, or a similar detail-oriented role, preferably within a financial context.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and pattern recognition.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data confidentiality and security principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations (e.g., AML, KYC) and banking risk concepts.
  • Experience with data annotation platforms or financial analysis software.
  • Prior experience working in the banking or financial services industry.
