Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive chemical and physical analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished beverage products.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods and instrumentation for new ingredients and product formulations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot quality control parameters, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with Research & Development, Brewing Operations, and Sensory teams on new product innovation and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
- Document all experimental procedures, data, and findings meticulously, preparing clear and concise reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP), and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in sensory evaluation panels to correlate chemical data with flavor profiles.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a closely related scientific field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory, preferably within the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency with various analytical techniques, including Chromatography (HPLC, GC), Spectroscopy (UV-Vis, FTIR), and wet chemistry methods.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot analytical instruments and solve complex chemical problems.
- Strong understanding of chemical principles as applied to beverage formulation and stability.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Brewing Science, or a related discipline.
- Direct experience with brewing processes, fermentation science, and sensory analysis of beverages.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Experience in method validation and statistical analysis of data.
