Job Description
We are seeking experienced and skilled Car Haulers to join our dedicated team in Philadelphia, PA. This is a full-time position offering high percentage pay, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work with a leader in vehicle transportation. As a Car Hauler, you will be responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of various types of vehicles, ensuring adherence to all DOT regulations and company policies. We are looking for professional drivers who are meticulous, safety-conscious, and committed to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, and unload vehicles onto car carrier trailers, utilizing proper tie-down techniques.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (DOT).
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all required paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and routes, managing time efficiently.
- Represent United Road professionally at all times.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable car hauling experience with a clean driving record
- Proficiency in operating multi-deck car haulers (stinger-steer or high-mount)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, bending, and securing vehicles
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required for routes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diverse vehicle types (cars, trucks, SUVs, luxury vehicles)
- Familiarity with various loading and unloading procedures for different manufacturers
- Prior experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and dispatch software
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
