Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Clinical Movement Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team in Glasgow. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering evidence-based exercise and movement interventions to a diverse range of clients, including those with musculoskeletal conditions, neurological impairments, chronic diseases, or those seeking performance enhancement. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, helping individuals improve their physical function, reduce pain, and achieve their personal health and wellness goals. This position requires strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive movement assessments, including biomechanical analysis and functional testing, to identify client needs and limitations.
  • Develop and implement individualized exercise prescription and movement rehabilitation programmes tailored to client goals and clinical presentation.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching on proper exercise technique, progression, and injury prevention.
  • Monitor client progress, evaluate programme effectiveness, and adjust interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with physiotherapists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic client care.
  • Contribute to continuous professional development and stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in clinical movement science.
  • Educate clients on lifestyle modifications, self-management strategies, and long-term health maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
  • Proficiency in conducting biomechanical assessments and functional movement screens.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and educate clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current First Aid and Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant clinical or exercise science discipline.
  • Accreditation with a professional body (e.g., BASES, HCPC, REPs).
  • Experience with specialist populations (e.g., neurological rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, elite athletes).
  • Certification in specific movement assessment tools (e.g., FMS, SFMA).
