Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Community Pharmacy Technician to join our established team in Allentown, PA. This role is crucial in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy, allowing us to provide exceptional patient care. You will primarily focus on prescription processing, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy inventory, all within a supportive and stable work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and assisting with over-the-counter product selection.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Perform data entry for new and refill prescriptions, ensuring accuracy of patient information and insurance details.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace.
- Operate pharmacy systems and cash registers efficiently.
- Handle controlled substances according to strict regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other team members to optimize workflow.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or community setting (1+ year)
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxConnect)
- Customer service experience
