Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team within a secure correctional facility in New Port Richey, FL. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, providing essential pharmaceutical support to our patient population. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and manage medication expiration dates.
- Maintain precise patient medication records and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Assist with the compounding of medications as required.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals to clarify prescription details and ensure seamless medication delivery.
- Adhere to all facility security policies and procedures at all times.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, dosages, and dispensing procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a secure and structured environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a correctional facility, hospital, or similar institutional setting.
- Advanced knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
