Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team within a secure correctional facility in New Port Richey, FL. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, providing essential pharmaceutical support to our patient population. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Manage and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and manage medication expiration dates.
  • Maintain precise patient medication records and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the compounding of medications as required.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to clarify prescription details and ensure seamless medication delivery.
  • Adhere to all facility security policies and procedures at all times.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, dosages, and dispensing procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a secure and structured environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a correctional facility, hospital, or similar institutional setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
