Job Description

Bupa Dental Care in Banbury is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Dental Nurse Trainee. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career, offering fully paid qualifications and hands-on experience in a modern, dynamic dental practice. You will be instrumental in supporting our dentists and ensuring a smooth, comfortable experience for our patients. We are looking for someone eager to learn, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care. Full training will be provided, leading to a recognized dental nursing qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures, including routine check-ups, restorative treatments, and minor oral surgery.
- Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and treatment rooms are fully stocked and compliant with cross-infection control.
- Provide compassionate support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after treatment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling where required.
- Undertake continuous professional development and actively engage in all aspects of the training programme to achieve a recognized dental nursing qualification.
- Manage dental stock and order supplies to ensure the clinic is always well-equipped.
- Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, health and safety regulations, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Required Skills
- No prior dental experience required – full training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and empathetic approach.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop a career in dental nursing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in basic IT skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Knowledge of basic first aid.
