Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving personal goals, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Facilitate community integration through participation in recreational activities, social events, and educational outings.
- Document observations, progress, and incidents accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, family members, and guardians to ensure holistic support.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to complete comprehensive paid training and obtain required certifications (CPR, First Aid)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities (volunteer or paid)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a human services field
- CPR and First Aid certification (current)
- Experience with behavioral support strategies
