Job Description
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented DIY Content Editor to join our dynamic team, focusing specifically on Pinterest-inspired projects for our leading home and lifestyle brands. This fully remote role requires a passion for crafting, home decor, and all things DIY, coupled with strong editorial skills to develop engaging, step-by-step content. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, writing, and editing articles, tutorials, and visual guides that resonate with a large audience of DIY enthusiasts, ensuring content is both inspiring and achievable. Key Responsibilities
- Generate innovative DIY project ideas inspired by current trends on Pinterest and other social platforms.
- Write clear, engaging, and comprehensive step-by-step instructions for a variety of DIY projects, from crafts to home improvement.
- Edit content from freelance writers, ensuring accuracy, clarity, adherence to style guides, and brand voice.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar focused on seasonal and evergreen DIY topics.
- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to ensure high-quality visual assets accompany all content.
- Optimize content for SEO and discoverability, particularly on Pinterest and Google.
- Research materials, tools, and techniques to ensure project feasibility and safety.
- Stay current with DIY trends, new products, and audience interests to keep content fresh and relevant.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in digital content creation or editorial roles, preferably in the DIY, home, or craft space.
- Demonstrable passion for and knowledge of DIY projects, crafting, and home decor.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Pinterest trends, algorithms, and content best practices.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, actionable instructions.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
