Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Tester to join our team in Davenport, focusing on EA Sports titles. This role is crucial for ensuring the high quality and playability of our games before they reach our global audience. You will be an integral part of a fast-paced development cycle, working closely with engineers, designers, and producers to identify, report, and verify issues. Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases thoroughly across various platforms.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure understanding of reported bugs and facilitate timely resolution.
- Provide detailed feedback on game quality, usability, and overall player experience.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to a collaborative development process.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
- Support pre-certification testing efforts for console platforms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Strong passion for video games and a solid understanding of sports gaming genres.
- Basic technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
- Previous experience in quality assurance for video games.
- Familiarity with various gaming platforms (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Mobile).
- Experience with test automation tools or scripting languages.
- Knowledge of performance testing and load testing concepts.
