Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Warehouse Lead to join our FedEx Ground team in Lakewood, CO. This role is a direct path to advancement, designed for individuals looking to grow into a Supervisor position. As a Warehouse Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient package sorting, loading, and unloading. You will be responsible for leading a team, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to the overall productivity of the facility. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of package handlers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure daily operational goals are met.
- Oversee the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and sorting of packages within the warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with all FedEx Ground safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Train new team members on operational processes, equipment usage, and safety guidelines.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating complex problems to management as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Accurately track and report package movement and operational metrics.
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification preferred).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience with FedEx or another major logistics company.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Demonstrated potential for leadership and supervisory roles.
