Job Description

FedEx Ground in Concord, CA, is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual for a Warehouse Lead position with a strong focus on management training. This role is designed for individuals who aspire to leadership, offering hands-on experience in day-to-day warehouse operations while providing a structured path for management development. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of packages, optimizing processes, and mentoring team members, all while gaining the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to advance into future management roles within our organization. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of package handlers and other warehouse personnel.
- Ensure timely and accurate sorting, loading, and unloading of packages according to established procedures.
- Monitor and maintain adherence to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Train and mentor new team members, providing ongoing guidance and feedback.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare daily reports on operational performance, including package volume, staffing, and potential issues.
- Collaborate with management to address operational challenges and achieve performance targets.
- Participate in ongoing management training programs and development initiatives.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven leadership potential or prior experience in a lead role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 75 lbs. (with assistance as needed).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- Experience with FedEx Ground operations.
- Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.
- Prior experience in a management training program.
