Job Description
Are you a responsible and energetic 13-year-old looking for your very first job? The Tampa Bay Times is seeking dedicated ‘Early Birds’ to join our newspaper delivery team in New Port Richey! This is a fantastic opportunity to earn your own money, develop a strong work ethic, and be an essential part of your community by ensuring local residents receive their morning news. This role is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, can wake up early, and wants to gain valuable real-world experience. No prior experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn and a commitment to reliability!
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up newspapers from a designated distribution point in the early morning hours.
- Deliver newspapers accurately and promptly to subscribers' doorsteps or designated drop-off locations along an assigned route.
- Ensure newspapers are protected from weather elements (e.g., rain, dew) by placing them in appropriate areas.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, representing the Tampa Bay Times positively.
- Report any delivery issues or concerns to a supervisor in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and traffic laws while on route.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
- Ability to follow directions and route maps accurately.
- Good physical stamina and ability to walk, bike, or carry newspapers.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must be 13 years of age or older.
