Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Reach Truck Specialist to join our night shift team in Naperville, Illinois. As a vital member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of freight using a reach truck. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a productive and organized warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to load, unload, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Accurately move freight and store it in designated locations.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including manual lifting and sorting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to optimize workflow and safety.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating a reach truck (2+ years).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping labels, manifests, and other relevant documents.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and basic computer skills for inventory management.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive movements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a FedEx or similar high-volume logistics environment.
- Current certification in reach truck operation.
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, electric pallet jack).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
