Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Food Service Delivery Driver to join our Colorado Springs team. This role is crucial for ensuring our customers receive their food products safely, efficiently, and on time. As a Sysco driver, you will operate state-of-the-art equipment, build strong relationships with our customers, and represent the high standards of our brand. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck over planned routes to deliver product to customers.
- Unload products at customer locations using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries with customers and collect payments as necessary.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and document findings.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, invoices, and other paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster positive relationships with clients.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or issues.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of all assigned routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with food service delivery or multi-stop delivery routes
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and lift gates
- Basic proficiency with mobile delivery devices or GPS systems
