Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Clerk to join our team at a local suburb clinic in Moreno Valley, CA. This role is crucial in creating a positive first impression for our patients and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy front office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing administrative tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the clinic's appointment book.
- Answer incoming calls, direct them appropriately, and take accurate messages.
- Process patient registrations, update demographic information, and verify insurance details.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, accurately recording all transactions.
- Maintain patient records with confidentiality and precision.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
- Ensure the waiting area is tidy and welcoming.
- Assist with other administrative duties as needed to support clinic operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Associate’s degree in Medical Office Administration or a related field.
