Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Office Specialist with a strong focus on medical billing to join our dynamic team in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of our front office operations while ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts and claims. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of medical billing procedures, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, responsible for a seamless administrative and financial experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients warmly, verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule and confirm appointments efficiently, managing patient flow.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
- Process patient payments accurately and reconcile daily receipts.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals in a timely manner.
- Address patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance, and account balances.
- Maintain patient records with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve complex billing issues.
- Manage incoming calls, faxes, and emails with professionalism and promptness.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical front office or administrative role.
- Demonstrated experience with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance claim submission.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, NextGen).
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial transactions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Medical Office Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CMRS).
- Experience with HonorHealth's specific EMR system.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
