Job Description

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking highly skilled and dependable Team Drivers for our High-Value Electronics Hauler division. This critical role involves the secure and timely transport of sensitive, high-value electronic goods across designated routes. As a Team Driver, you will work collaboratively with your driving partner to ensure continuous operation, strict adherence to security protocols, and meticulous documentation of all shipments. We are looking for professional drivers with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills to uphold Ryder’s reputation for reliability and excellence in specialized logistics. This position requires operating state-of-the-art equipment and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism on the road.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles as part of a two-person team to transport high-value electronics over long distances.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific security protocols.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo, ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and security manifests.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, team partner, and clients regarding delivery schedules, potential delays, and security updates.
  • Ensure the security of cargo at all times, including monitoring seals, maintaining sight of the vehicle during stops, and following all security guidelines.
  • Plan routes efficiently with team partner to optimize delivery times and comply with hours of service regulations.
  • Represent Ryder System, Inc. professionally and courteously to all clients and the public.

Required Skills

  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience with a tractor-trailer.
  • Proven experience in team driving operations.
  • Clean driving record (no major violations in the past 3 years).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and security protocols.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transporting high-value or sensitive cargo.
  • Hazmat endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
  • Advanced defensive driving course completion.
  • Familiarity with GPS and route optimization software.
