Job Description
Join Kaiser Permanente as a Home Health Aide and become a vital part of our patient care team. In this role, you will provide essential personal care and support to patients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate equipment.
- Support patients with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising nurses or care coordinators.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Accurately document services provided and patient observations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Assist with medication reminders as instructed by a licensed nurse.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in California.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish or Cantonese).
