Job Description

Join Kaiser Permanente as a Home Health Aide and become a vital part of our patient care team. In this role, you will provide essential personal care and support to patients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate equipment.
  • Support patients with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding as needed.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising nurses or care coordinators.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Accurately document services provided and patient observations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist with medication reminders as instructed by a licensed nurse.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Required Skills

  • Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in California.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients safely.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual skills (especially Spanish or Cantonese).
