Job Description

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) seeking a flexible schedule and the opportunity to make a profound difference in people’s lives? BrightStar Care in West Covina, CA, is looking for skilled and caring HHAs to join our growing team. As an HHA, you will provide essential personal care, companionship, and support to clients in their homes across various suburbs in the West Covina area, helping them maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide medication reminders as directed by care plans.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, tidying, and meal preparation.
  • Assist with safe client transfers and ambulation.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities and provide companionship.
  • Monitor and report changes in client's health status or behavior to the nursing supervisor.
  • Document care provided accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.

Required Skills

  • Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in California.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with current auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks associated with client care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Experience working with clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
  • Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
